The Latino Officers Association Florida Miami Dade Chapter is honored to welcome back Chief Leonard Burgess of the Miami Dade Police Dept, in his new role as Deputy Director of Miami Dade Corrections.

Chief Burgess past role was as the Special investigations Division (SID)Chief. The Division is responsible for major economic, narcotic, criminal conspiracy, auto theft, and organized crime investigations, and investigations associated with prostitution, gambling, and pornography that exceed the resources of other departmental elements. Additionally, SID is responsible for Homeland Security.

The appointment of Deputy Director Burgess, will place Miami Dade Corrections on the map within law enforcement circles.
