The Latino Officers Association Florida is happy to welcome
Mr. Rafael Hernandez Jr, as the new Police Chief for the City of North Miami Beach Police Dept. Mr. Hernandez was formally sworn in as North Miami Beach's newest Police Chief on January 15, 2008. Hernandez, 57, who most recently served at the Tallahassee Police Department has a high ranking official with
34 years of law enforcement experience.
Chief Hernandez makes the third Latino Police Chief in Miami Dade County's 34 municipal governments police departments. Also within the ranks of Latino Chief's are:
Miami Beach Police Chief Noriega,
Hialeah Gardens Police Chief Van Toth
Doral Police Chief Gomez.

The LOA-FLA is registered in Florida as (not for profit) 501 c4. The corporation was filed on August 19, 2002 in the state of Florida under document number N02000006250. Our mission and vision is and always shall be to promote the Hispanic community, increase the representation of Latinos at the Federal, State, County and Local of the criminal justice system. We also work hard towards enhancing the image and professionalism of law enforcement in general, and Hispanics in particular. Latino POLICE Radio, was created from the blogtalkradio network in 2007 under the approval of the LOA-FLA BOD.
